ALMOND GREEN BEAN SUPREME


½ cup chopped onion
½ stick of butter
1 cup sour cream
1¼ cups grated cheddar cheese, divided
4 *cans French cut green beans, drained
½ cup slivered almonds

Saute onion in butter about five minutes in large pan; add sour cream and cheese, stirring until cheese is melted. Remove from heat and mix in drained green beans and almonds. Transfer to casserole dish and sprinkle top with ¼ cup of reserved cheddar. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

This dish can be prepared, covered and refrigerated several days in advance. Bring to room temperature before baking.

*can substitute 2 (12 oz.) pkgs frozen French cut green beans
