Mushroom Turnovers
Pastry
1 (8 oz.) pkg cream cheese
½ cup butter or margarine
1-1/2 cups flour
½ t. salt
Filling
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 T. butter
½ lb. fresh button mushrooms, finely chopped
¼ t. thyme
Pepper to taste
2 T. flour
¼ cup sour cream
Grated Parmesan cheese
For pastry:
Mix and chill ingredients for 1 hour. Roll out as for pie crust,
using ¼ of the dough at a time. Cut in 3-inch rounds.
For filling:
Saute onion in butter; add mushrooms, thyme and pepper. Saute until
onion is limp; stir in flour and sour cream.
To assemble:
Place 1 t. of mushroom filling on each pastry round. Fold and seal
by crimping the edges. Prick with fork; brush with melted butter
and sprinkle with Parmesan. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake
at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. |
