Up Man’s Meal
Serves 4-6
1
(2 ½ lb.) boneless chuck roast, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 large onions, chopped
2 T. butter
2 T. vegetable oil
Place
butter and oil in large saucepan or Dutch Oven over medium
high heat. Once butter has melted add the cubed beef and onions.
Saute until meet is browned and the onion is soft. In a separate
bowl, mix up the following 9 ingredients:

(8 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 t. sugar
2 t. paprika
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 t. salt
1 ½ t. caraway seeds
1 t. dill weed
¼ t. pepper
1/8 t. garlic powder
Pour
over browned meat in pan; bring to boil and reduce heat. Cover
and simmer for 2 hours or until meat is tender. Remove from
heat and stir in:

cup sour cream
Serve
over hot buttered egg noodles, mashed potatoes or herbed steamed
rice with garlic toast and a salad. |
