Brownie Mix for Gifts

4 cups flour
4½ cups sugar
1 cup cocoa
1½ cups powdered milk
1½ T. baking powder
1 T. salt
1 egg
¼ cup oil
¼ cup warm water
1 t. vanilla

Mix flour sugar, cocoa, dry milk, baking powder and salt together and store in jars or tight container. To bake, use 1¾ cups mix; add egg, oil, water and vanilla. Mix well by hand and pour into greased 8-inch square pan. Bake 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. If desired sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts before baking. Makes 4-5 batches of brownies. This recipe is perfect to give as a dry mix with a holiday recipe card that tells how to mix up a batch - just attach the card to the jar with a bright holiday ribbon!
